Underwater monuments of Issyk-Kul - Maxim Menshikov and the results of the international archaeological expedition at the Moscow Dive Show 2024

In 2022, it was decided to revive the expedition, which began working on Lake Issyk-Kul (Kyrgyz Republic) back in Soviet times. Work has been suspended for the last 10 years. In 2023, the expedition conducted exploration work on the northern shore of the lake. Medieval monuments and monuments of the Early Iron Age were examined.
The purpose of the work is exclusively scientific:
— development of new and development of old methods of underwater archaeological research
— - search and establishment of boundaries of archaeological sites under water
— - preservation and adaptation for tourism of archaeological sites under water without damage to the monuments themselves.
On Friday, from the stage of the Moscow Dive Show 2024, the head of the Russian team of the international underwater high-mountain archaeological expedition to Lake Baikal. Issyk-Kul, an employee of the Department of Archaeological Heritage Preservation of the Institute of Archeology of the Russian Academy of Sciences Maxim Menshikov will tell the history of underwater research in Issyk-Kul, explain why the monuments were under water and what are the future plans of scientists, as well as how you can become a member of such an expedition and help its development.
As part of the presentation, a documentary will be shown, including underwater and quadrocopter footage. And of course, you can ask Maxim Menshikov your questions.
