Sony at Moscow Dive Show 2017

13 Jan 2017

The Sony began as a small private workshop making shortwave devices for radio-receiving sets.

The workshop was opened in May 1946 by Masaru Ibuka and his partner Akio Morita and employed 20 people.

It was unlikely that anyone could foresee a great future for this modest shop at that time.

However, Masaru Ibuka, the firm's technical genius, and Akio Morita, who was responsible for the marketing and commercial implementation of their bold projects, turned a small and largely unknown company into one of the world's corporate majors. Their efforts resulted not only in creation of a large company – it was a firm, dedicated to innovation.

It was Sony Corporation who first began to mass-produce a transistor radio, designed a world's first home video recorder and created the iconic cassette player Walkman, complete with headphones.

It was also Sony Corporation who succeeded, together with the Dutch concern Philips, in developing and implementation a novel laser technology of CD recording.

Today, Sony Corporation is a leading manufacturer of audio, video, game and telecommunication devices and information products for both consumer and professional markets.

Thanks to its solid position in various fields, such as music, movies, video games, and e-commerce, Sony enjoys unique advantages in the world of electronics and entertainment, being one of its leaders.
A wide range of Sony photo and video devices and accessories, intended for the active life-style enthusiasts, such as travellers, divers, spearfishers, yachtsmen, and more, will be presented at the Moscow Dive Show 2017 exhibition.
