The opening day, traditionally, is going to be calm and quiet (unlike Friday evening and Saturday when we expect turmoil). Fewer people, more space. Still, a pretty eventful Thursday program will keep everyone busy. Below is the list of events that you cannot miss.
At 16.00, legendary Mikhail Savelyev will give a lecture "5000 years of sailing history: from swimming on a log, through caravels of Caribbean pirates to America's Cup catamarans".
at 16.30 "New SSI Standards in diving" (speakers: Stanislav Polyakov and Ronny Kain)
at 17.30 - "New SSI Standards in freediving". Speaker - Natalia Avseenko. Being the only for now Russian-speaking SSI freediving instructor, Natalia will talk about the latest changes in SSI freediving programs, new programs and specializations. There will be a lot of information for those who want to become a SSI freediving Instructor.
At 18.00 the partner country of Moscow Dive Show 2018 - Jordan - will present the city of Aqaba, the northern gates to the Red Sea.

A worthy final to the evening of the first day is the presentation of Marina Kazankova, the Guinness world record 2016 holder, the champion and world record holder in freediving, which will be held at 19.30 on the main stage.
During the daytime, there will be three bright speakers on the Main stage.
At 15:00, Svetlana Akulova, director of the Moscow Zoo, will speak about sharks and her book "I'm a Shark."At 15:30 there will be an exclusive run of a documentary film The attraction of the Blue ("Притяжение Синевы"), directed by Vladimir Liutov, about the legendary aquanaut Andre Laban, underwater cameraman and engineer from Jacques Yves Cousteau team, who, after leaving Calypso, became the founder of a new line of contemporary art ? underwater painting and underwater cinematography, where all actors play underwater holding they breath.
