On the big screen of Moscow Dive Show 2025, underwater hunter from Makhachkala Eldar Temirkhanov will show his underwater videos and answer any questions about underwater hunting in Dagestan.
Eldar's word:
I am originally from Dagestan, I live in Makhachkala. I have lived half my life in Germany, I am a linguist and simultaneous translator by profession. My path to the underwater world began 4 years ago, when I took biology textbooks from my older brother and admired the pictures of the underwater world and life. And at the age of 11, I accidentally saw on TV how some "dude" was engaged in underwater hunting, and fell in love with this activity at first sight. But all this remained a dream until I turned 25. I came across an underwater hunting store in my city and immediately bought everything I needed! I started diving alone, without any help, I had no mentors, teachers and eventually learned everything myself. Every time I returned home from hunting, I would tell my family and friends about the beauty of the underwater world with admiration, but I couldn’t get it across, so I thought, "It’s better to show once than tell a hundred times,” and bought a camera. Buying a video camera was the beginning of my blogging journey, because I didn’t limit myself to telling my family about hunting, but decided to share my impressions with the whole world! Now I’m 32, and I have 2 channels about underwater hunting: one for the Russian-speaking audience (almost 75 thousand subscribers and more than 50 million views https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLOVb36LHHCJg7ruAwCDxTDhzp1CqlOoO6 ), and the other for the English-speaking audience ( https://www.youtube.com/@livewitheldar ).
My favorite hunt is reed hunting! And the water must be super clear, because I do not dive in water with transparency below 3 meters, no matter what trophies live in this water. For me, spearfishing is, first of all, enjoying the underwater world, and not fishing, so when the transparency is poor, I cannot properly relax and enjoy the hunt. Even if the transparency is "working", as we say.
In addition to the Dagestan reservoirs, I dived in the Mediterranean Sea. The most unusual fish I saw was the shark ray (lat. Rhina ancylostoma, English Bowmouth guitarfish). Its tail is like a shark, and its head is like a ray! For a long time I could not find information about this fish and to myself I called it "shark ray". Now I know the correct way.
I cannot especially boast about trophies, because the largest fish I caught was a 12-kilogram white amur in the Agrakhan Gulf. Once, I lost a 20-kilogram carp. And once a huge carp stole my crossbow! Anything can happen. I will tell you about it at the exhibition and, of course, I will show underwater hunting in Dagestan on video.
The meeting with Eldar is scheduled for Friday evening, February 21, 2025. You will find out the exact time from the poster (we will update it in December). Follow our news, stay up to date with events.
The Moscow Dive Show 2025 waterman exhibition will be held in the Gostiny Dvor of Moscow from February 20 to 23, 2025.
