In August, the World Games were held in China, where pool freediving was also introduced for the first time. Alexey Molchanov, for whom swimming disciplines are by and large not specialized, nevertheless showed impressive results by swimming 305.5 meters in a monolast in one breath. This is the silver medal of the competition, an absolute record among Russians and Molchanov's personal best.
From China, the athlete went to Greece for the CMAS 2025 World Depth Championship, where he won 3 more medals.:
— gold medal in the discipline "diving in monolast" (CWT) for the result of 130 meters;
— silver in the dicipline "diving into the depths without fins" (CNF) for a distance of 90 meters;
— gold for 121 meters deep in split fins (CWTB).
But even this did not seem enough for the leader of world and Russian freediving, so in September he took part in the AIDA Deep World Championship in Cyprus, where he set his 40th world record and received 3 more gold medals.:
— On September 26, Alexey dived with one breath in separate flippers (CWTB discipline) to a depth of 126 meters. The duration of the athlete's stay underwater during the dive was an amazing 4 minutes and 45 seconds. And this is Molchanov's new world record!
— On September 29, Alexey won the gold medal in the discipline of hand rope diving (FIM), diving to a depth of 130 meters.
— On October 1, Molchanov added another gold to his piggy bank by diving 130 meters in a monolast (CWT).In total, 5 gold medals, 2 silver medals, another world record, and endless delight and admiration from the global freedive community.
