Alexander Kusakin is a man who has made a breakthrough in inclusion in the topic of freediving. A person who, having lost both legs in an accident, competes in freediving competitions on a general basis. The man who founded and headed the Freediving Federation committee for the development of parafridiving in Russia and became a member of the CMAS commission for the development of parafridiving in the world. And, in the end, Alexander Kusakin is the owner of five CMAS parafridiving world records (this is if you count only those that were set in 2025).

— I have been practicing freediving since 2013, I learned deep diving from Natalia Molchanova and Gus Kravenas (TOUCHDOWN team).— Graduated to a Molchanovs freediving instructor, W3I level;
— In 2020, he had an accident, lost both legs, and then began his career in professional sports;
— Ambassador of para-freediving and the first online prosthetic walking school in Russia ("Elena Mezentseva walking school");
— Active athlete, master of sports, member of the Moscow national team (in underwater sports on a general basis);
— Winner of the 2022 Moscow Championship (STA), silver and bronze medalist of the 2024 Russian Championships on a common basis.
— Participant and prize-winner of the Moscow and Russian Championships in 2021-2024. (on general grounds);
— Four—time world champion and fourteen-time CMASworld record holder;
— Silver medalist at the 2025 World Games in China (freediving was introduced for the first time).
On February 21, on the stage of the Moscow Dive Show, we will present Alexander Kusakin with the statuette Heroes of the Deep 2026 and give him a well-deserved ovation for his outstanding achievements in world parafridiving, for his contribution to the expansion of underwater boundaries for "people with disabilities", as well as for his inexhaustible optimism and love of life.
