Keeping up with the achievements of world record-holder freediving Alexey Molchanov is no easy task—he's winning medals and setting records faster than we can write about them. So, here's a quick summary of the Moscow Dive Show ambassador's competitive season:

In August, the World Games took place in China, where pool freediving was introduced for the first time. Alexey Molchanov, who isn't really into pool diving, nevertheless achieved an impressive result, swimming 305.5 meters with a monofin on a single breath. This earned him a silver medal, an absolute record among Russians, and a personal best for Molchanov.

From China, the athlete traveled to Greece for the 2025 CMAS World Depth Championships, where he won three more medals:
gold in the monofin depth diving (CWT) discipline for a result of 130 meters;
— Silver in the Deep Freestyle No Fins (CNF) for a distance of 90 meters;
— Gold for a depth of 121 meters with separate fins (CWTB).

But even this wasn't enough for the world and Russian freediving leader, so in September he took part in the AIDA World Depth Championships in Cyprus, where he set his 40th world record and earned three more gold medals:

— On September 26, Alexey dove on a single breath with separate fins (CWTB) to a depth of 126 meters. The athlete stayed underwater for an astonishing 4 minutes and 45 seconds. And this is a new world record for Molchanov!
— On September 29, Alexey won a gold medal in the FIM Hand Line Diving discipline, diving to a depth of 130 meters.
On October 1st, Molchanov added another gold medal to his collection, diving 130 meters with a monofin (CWT).

This brings his total to five gold medals, two silver medals, another world record, and endless admiration from the global freediving community.

The Moscow Dive Show team congratulates Alexey on his outstanding results and looks forward to seeing him at the exhibition in February.

As usual, the Molchanova Freediving School will offer the opportunity to shake Alexey Molchanov's hand and take a commemorative photo with him at the Moscow Dive Show at its booth.

We will announce the date and time of the autograph session with the record-breaker in the January 2026 exhibition poster; stay tuned!
