Tatyana Ponomareva and Marina Andreeva need no introduction in the spearfishing community, as they have been organizing the annual underwater hunting festival "Underwater Saratov" for the past seven years.
The festival's history began over 15 years ago with the initiative of Vyacheslav Barankin, Alexander Bandurkin, and Pavel Antonov. The original organizers of "Underwater Saratov" were Alexey and Tatyana Ponomarev, Alexander Danilov, and Eduard Plotnikov. Back then, it was a small event for local spearfishers. But as the years passed, the festival's format and scale changed, and Marina Andreeva and Tatyana Ponomareva took over as organizers. And so, in 2025, the 15th anniversary festival took place, bringing together 112 underwater participants (a record number!) from Saratov, Penza, Volgograd, Ulyanovsk, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kaluga, Voronezh, and other cities on the banks of the Volga.
The entire team at the Saratov DISKUS64 store is directly involved in scuba diving: Alexey is an underwater hunter with 20 years of experience, while Tatyana and Marina don't hunt fish themselves, but they do freediving at a local freediving club.
Over the years, "Underwater Saratov" has become a true annual celebration for underwater hunters across Russia and a meeting place for old and new friends. For the love of underwater hunting and underwater hunters. For their invaluable contribution to the popularization of spearfishing and the unification of underwater hunters. For their dedication to their craft, thanks to which the festival lives and develops, despite all the difficulties. And for their masterful creation of a warm atmosphere at the Underwater Saratov Festival, we will honor Tatyana and Marina at the "Heroes of the Depth" show in February 2026. The
"Heroes of the Depth" show will take place on February 21 at 5:00 PM at Gostiny Dvor in Moscow as part of the Moscow Dive Show, an aquatic exhibition. To attend the show and support the nominees, simply purchase a ticket to the exhibition.
