Istra parafreediving club "Varyag" is: - rehabilitation of people with disabilities through sports; - preparation of athletes for parafreediving competitions; - training in adaptive physical education; - active recreation in open water; - rafting on SUP boards.
In addition, the club is engaged in the development and implementation of various projects for people with disabilities, establishing contacts with non-governmental foreign and international organizations to achieve goals.
Athletes of the club compete on the same basis as ordinary healthy athletes. In October, at the Moscow Cup in underwater sports "Varyag" was represented by two people: Rudnev Daniil and Kushchenko Pavel.
On Sunday, on Freediving Day at the Moscow Dive Show 2025, the mentor and ideological inspirer of the Varyag club Nikolai Sergeevich Rudnev will tell from the stage about the history of the club, hydrorehabilitation classes with children and adults with disabilities, holding freediving competitions in the Istra urban district, the club's plans for 2025 and the development of underwater sports in the urban district in general.
