ANO "Norilsk Development Agency" is an institute of territorial development that contributes to the formation of conditions for improving the quality of life in Norilsk, developing the social environment and increasing human capital.
Since 2017, the Agency has been working in five areas::
— development of the urban environment
— development of tourism;
— development of the business environment
— investment;
— socio-cultural and educational projects.
The Agency's key tasks include transforming the urban environment, improving the quality of services and accessibility of services, supporting entrepreneurship, creating conditions for the development of domestic and foreign tourism, creating a favorable investment climate, and organizing a fundamentally new high-quality event agenda. ARN projects are implemented with the active participation of citizens, with the involvement of the best Russian and international experts. In six years, the Agency has implemented about 180 projects.
For the integrated development of tourism on the territory of the Agency's initiative, the Arctic tourism and recreation cluster was created, a tourist community was formed and its coordination is carried out. The agency promotes the emergence of new types of tourism and local products, betting, among other things, on major sporting events.
Since 2021, with the assistance of the Agency, a stage of the World Open Water Swimming Championship X-WATERS is being held in Taimyr. For the first two years, the cold swims took place on the Lama Fjord Lake, the pearl of the Putorana Plateau, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In 2023, for the first time, daredevils from all over the country gathered in the city of Dudinka to conquer the polar Yenisei. The relocation of the competition allowed to multiply the number of participants and guests of the sporting event, including through swimmer support groups.
In 2023, the Agency organized for the first time the festival of freediving "Putorana Depth". The competition brought together the strongest world-class divers and novice Norilsk freedivers. Alexey Molchanov, 34-time world champion in freediving, Guinness World record holder for ice diving in Lake Baikal and president of the Freediving Federation, has set a new record for Russia. The athlete performed a 100-meter breath-holding dive at the northernmost point.
