Stanislav Tolstnev's film "Beyond the Ice Edge" is about a filming expedition to catch seals among the drifting ice of Lake Baikal on a small inflatable trimaran. Filming took place over the course of two years. In order to capture the most natural behavior of the seals, the cameraman had to take a risk - to settle among them on drifting ice floes and live in the middle of a huge lake. The film is supplemented by unique footage and educational stories about other Baikal inhabitants.
