The goal of the foundation is to unite experts, responsible businesses and caring people to work together to preserve the nature of our country.
"Bowhead whales are an ancient and unique Arctic species. They live up to 200 years, can sing and, unlike other whales, can distinguish smells. The bowhead whale, often called the "polar whale", is a typical representative of Arctic waters and one of the most important indicators of the state of the fragile Arctic ecosystems.
The Okhotsk Sea population of bowhead whales is listed in the Red Book of the Russian Federation, where it is assigned the highest priority of urgency and priority of environmental measures taken and planned for adoption. The bowhead whale is one of the species that is the focus of the federal project "Preservation of Biological Diversity and Development of Ecotourism" of the national project "Ecology".
